September 6, 2002

Clearview Capital, through the Comtec Division of its portfolio company Compression Polymers Group, has acquired the assets of Columbia, MD based Capitol Partitions. The acquisition, which was identified and negotiated by Clearview, combines the number one and number three fabricators of solid plastic partitions to create the clear industry leader in the plastic segment of the bathroom partition industry. Although Capitol Partitions will be folded into Comtec's Scranton, PA facility, Capitol's former owner and president, Jim Arnaiz, will remain with the business, adding to Comtec's already deep management team.

Through its Compression and Vycom divisions, the Scranton, Pennsylvania-based Compression Polymers Group manufactures highly engineered extruded polyethylene, polypropylene and PVC/CPVC thermoplastic sheet products used primarily as metal and wood substitutes in a variety of applications and end markets. Product applications include outdoor trim moldings; playground equipment; chemical storage tanks; flameproof products for the semiconductor industry; waterproof products for the marine industry; and a variety of other industrial uses. The Comtec division, where Capitol Partitions will be integrated, is the largest fabricator of solid plastic bathroom partitions and lockers in the world. These products are fabricated from HDPE and polypropylene sheet product manufactured by the Compression division.

"Capitol Partitions is a perfect acquisition for Comtec," said Delbert Keisling, Comtec's President. "By combining Capitol's brand name, management talent and excellent customer base with Compression Polymers' and Comtec's vertically integrated manufacturing capability, we will create the largest, strongest manufacturer of bathroom partitions in the world."

"Clearview Capital is very fortunate to be in partnership with Compression Polymers," said James G. Andersen, Clearview's co-managing partner. "We are confident Compression's and Comtec's management will integrate this acquisition quickly and continue to build upon their world class manufacturing capabilities. We are also thrilled, to be able to work with Jim Arnaiz, Capitol's Owner and President. Clearview has been in discussion for nearly three years with Jim and the time was finally right for him to gain liquidity from the company he spent twenty years building."
